Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and resolve physical and design-related issues in semiconductor components.
- Ensure components are equipped with comprehensive debug features for advanced silicon isolation capabilities.
- Utilize system setups, testing equipment, automated systems, and lab tools (such as probe tools and Focused Ion Beam tools) to pinpoint silicon circuit failures at microscopic levels under testing conditions.
- Perform fault isolation to determine root causes of silicon failures and defect modes.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including test and validation engineers, circuit designers, wafer fabrication process engineers, and high-volume manufacturing teams, to ensure efficient and accelerated failure analysis.
- Collaborate to address quality concerns by sharing ownership in failure analysis initiatives, proposing temporary mitigation options, and supporting permanent solutions.
- Provide recommendations for failure analysis investigations and design process improvements to uphold product specifications.
- Research, develop, and implement new debug technologies, methodologies, and tools for continuous innovation in silicon debugging processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent technical field.
- 3 or more years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2 or more years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
- Proficiency in debugging tools and methodologies, including the use of lab probe tools, automated systems, and fault isolation equipment.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor physics, silicon circuit design, and testing procedures.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to accelerate failure analysis and design improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in failure analysis methodologies and defect isolation techniques.
- Familiarity with wafer fabrication processes and high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with circuit designers and manufacturing engineers for problem resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities to effectively lead cross-functional discussions and initiatives.
