At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.

In transaction services at PwC, you will provide strategic advice and support to clients in their mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. Your work will include conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and managing the transaction process.

Focused on relationships, you are building meaningful client connections, and learning how to manage and inspire others. Navigating increasingly complex situations, you are growing your personal brand, deepening technical expertise and awareness of your strengths. You are expected to anticipate the needs of your teams and clients, and to deliver quality. Examples of the skills, knowledge, and experiences you need to lead and deliver value at this level include but are not limited to:

• Respond effectively to the diverse perspectives, needs, and feelings of others.
• Use a broad range of tools, methodologies and techniques to generate new ideas and solve problems.
• Use critical thinking to break down complex concepts.
• Understand the broader objectives of your project or role and how your work fits into the overall strategy.
• Develop a deeper understanding of the business context and how it is changing.
• Use reflection to develop self awareness, enhance strengths and address development areas.
• Interpret data to inform insights and recommendations.
• Uphold and reinforce professional and technical standards (e.g. refer to specific PwC tax and audit guidance), the Firm's code of conduct, and independence requirements.

The PwC People in Deals team is seeking a motivated and analytical junior resource to join our expanding team. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the world of mergers and acquisitions. Our teams core focus is on due diligence, value creation, and integration / separation projects. We look at workforce analytics, organisational insights, and people‑related risk identifiers, including the financial quantifications of the workforce. The ideal candidate is interested in workforce and organisational dynamics, with a keen interest in understanding how people practices shape business performance.

What you will be doing

As a Senior Associate for People in Deals, you will be part of an enthusiastic, open minded, and ambitious team. Your work will be diverse, where you will work across industries, sectors, and geographies - offering the perfect environment to grow as a top-tier management consultant.

You will need to have strong numerical skills, a desire to work in an ever-changing environment, and have a drive for constant personal development. You will need to be adaptable to different situations and actively seek collaboration opportunities. The role will entail:

· Supporting the delivery of human capital analysis across due diligence, value creation, and integration / separation projects

· Collecting, analysing, and interpreting people‑related data sets (e.g., headcount, organisational structures, compensation, workforce costs)

· Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities within workforce data to inform client decision‑making

· Preparing well‑structured deliverables, including data summaries, draft reports, presentations, and project trackers

· Working closely with senior team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of outputs

· Assisting with the coordination of information requests and documentation during fast‑paced deal cycles

· Participating in internal and client meetings, capturing actions, and following up on required items

· Supporting project management activities, including tracking progress, updating workplans, and managing document repositories

Experience / qualifications required

· A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Commerce, Economics, or Law

· Postgraduate studies in a related field (e.g., Honours in Industrial Psychology, HR Management, Business Science, or Analytics) would be advantageous

· At least 1 - 3 years of working experience in a consulting environment

· Or, alternatively, if you have worked as part of an in-house HR team who has gone through a deal process (either previously acquired or carved out from a global team); or form part of an in-house acquisition / corporate finance team who does continual M&A type work

· Exposure to people-related topics—HR processes, workforce planning, compensation analysis, organisational design, change management, and stakeholder engagement

· You are a team player, energetic, client-focused, and find it easy to build relationships

· You are flexible, and can quickly switch between different assignments and sectors

· Experience working with data sets—cleaning, analysing, and summarising information for reporting or decision‑making

· Exposure to Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling) and PowerPoint for preparing client‑ready outputs

· Prior involvement in project support or team-based work, particularly in fast-paced or deadline-driven environments

· Comfort engaging with different stakeholders (e.g., peers, team leaders) and contributing in meetings

· You are proactive, pay attention to the details, driven, results-oriented, and naturally take initiative
