1. DB2 DBA on z/OS (Primary Skill)

• Must be a production support DBA

• Good in problem solving & analytical Skills

• Creating Database objects, Tablespaces, Tables, Views, Indexes etc. and coordinating with application team for design related issues

• Experience on followings

o IBM DB2 Utilities, Commands

 UNLOAD, RELOAD, COPY, RECOVER, REORG & RUNSTATS

o DB2 Performance Tuning

o Recovery

o Tools like File Aid, QMF, SPUFI

o Platinum tools

 Log Analyzer

 Database & Plan Analyzer

 RC Tools

 Detector

 Subsystem Analyzer



• Good exposure onmainframe skills like JCL, VSAM

• Experience on DB2 Upgrades

• Database monitoring, health check, housekeeping

• Knowledge/experience with DR (Disaster Recovery) drill

2. DB2 UDB DBA/LUW (Secondary Skill)

• Expertise on V9.5 on linux

• Able to perform db2 utilities

• Able to write scripts for performing house-keeping activities

• Performance tuning from both application perspective and system

• Able to perform routine task like load/import/export

• Understands db2 migration/upgradation concepts

• Check diaglog for any issues

• Database upgrades, Fix pack patches and maintenance

• Db2 migration/upgradation

• perform routine task like load/import/export

• Database performance and overall server health check and monitoring

• Database backup & recovery

• Disaster Recovery

• Provide support to application team

• House-keeping activities

3. IMS DBA on z/OS (Secondary Skill)

• HISAM, HIDAM, HDAM Databases

• IMS Utilities, Commands

• Database recovery using DBRC

• Database Backout

• Pointer Checker

• MFS

• DBD, PSD, ACBGEN & related activities

• IMS Compression/ Randomizer Module

• RECON Maintenance, Recovery & Batch backout

• Helping application team to fix their issue during high severity incidents

• Database refresh

• Monitor Space for the databases and implement the space changes
