Databricks Platform Engineer (AWS) - (TS/SCI)

North Point Technology is hiring a hands-on engineer to own, harden, and scale a global, mission data platform for a critical GEOINT modernization mission for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). You’ll administer Databricks at scale, build secure AWS infrastructure, and ship automation that accelerates analysts and data scientists worldwide.

Responsibilities

•
Administer Databricks (workspaces, users/groups, clusters/jobs, pools, JSON configs), monitor performance, and resolve issues

•
Operate AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC/networking, CloudWatch, Lambda) with strong security and reliability

•
Deliver Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation); automate reports, admin tools, and service metrics

•
Support multiple VPC-based Databricks shards serving 400+ global users

•
Drive integration, security hardening, operational readiness, and clear documentation

•
Work in Agile (sprints, standups, retrospectives) with developers, analysts, and vendors

Required

•
US citizenship; active Top Secret with SCI and ability to pass a polygraph

•
BS in CS/IS/Engineering (or related) + 8 years, or MS + 6 years

•
Enterprise Databricks administration experience

•
Proven AWS experience across compute, storage, databases, IAM, and networking

•
Automation/scripting skills; strong documentation habits

•
Excel for data transformation/graphing; PowerPoint for visuals

•
Classified cloud security/compliance familiarity

•
Security+ CE (or similar) within 6 months for privileged admin access

•
Agile/Scrum experience; Jira/Confluence

•
Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission environment

Preferred

•
DoD/IC customer experience; familiarity with IC data handling

•
Containers/orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS)

•
Python (Pandas, Boto3, PySpark, MLOps), Java or Scala for data engineering

•
AWS certs (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.)

•
Bash scripting; Jupyter; Power Query/Power Pivot

•
Strong SQL (tuning, plans, indexing); data transforms and joins on common keys

•
Software patterns (Client–Server, Microservices, MVC)

•
Multi-cloud exposure (AWS, IBM, Google, Azure, Oracle)

•
CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab) and Docker
