One of Playtech’s many products is looking for a proactive Database Engineer with exceptional analytical thinking and multitasking skills.

Your influential mission. You will...

• Actively participate in gathering and analyzing data requirements.
• Design and implement various solutions, processes and flows to accomodate product data needs.
• Work with the other team members in designing, building and scaling database solutions for growth, security, and resilience.
• Aid the development and testing teams in the rollout of scheduled releases.
• Plan, implement, oversee and monitor database deployments.
• Oversee and monitor performance of Product data on Production environment.
• Assist our product business needs by extracting data routines and writing bespoke reports.
• Analyze, design and implement various improvements and automations to our development processes.
• Perform DBA related tasks when needed to aid the stability of our environments.

Components for success. You...

• Have hands-on development and DBA experience with Oracle and/or Postgres.
• Provide hands-on support for high-volume, highly transactional, online, 24/7/365 systems.
• Have supported a team of developers and understand the development lifecycle.
• Possess excellent technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Are skilled in performance analysis and tuning.
• Have in-depth experience with SQL, PL/SQL/PSQL, and shell scripting.
• Utilize and implement database monitoring tools effectively.
• Have experience with zero downtime database deployments.
• Are knowledgeable in backup and recovery technologies (RMAN, Dataguard).

The TEAM

An experienced Postgres and Oracle DB developer is needed to join our existing database team, providing support for our online entertainment platform. You will be supporting and maintaining the Production, Staging, Load Test, and Development database environments. The role will be split between production support, new project work, data extracts and data migration projects. Any experience with data migrations on a physical or logical level would be highly advantageous. The databases are highly transactional OLTP, and the ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of performance tuning, including SQL tuning, indexing and partitioning strategies, and optimizing the OS level for optimum performance. Our internal and external customers rely on several data extracts and reports, which are key to their daily duties, and these are also supported by the database team.
