Database Engineer II

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize database solutions using MySQL or MongoDB.

• Write efficient SQL or backend JavaScript logic for complex business cases.

• Automate routine operational tasks using Python and Shell.

• Provide production support, on-call troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

• Monitor performance; improve reliability, availability, and scalability.

• Collaborate with Engineering/DevOps for CI/CD and deployments.

• (Optional) Contribute to cloud automation (AWS/Azure).

• Work with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef) and Jenkins.

• Maintain documentation, backup/recovery procedures, and security compliance.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS/IT or equivalent.

• Hands-on MySQL or MongoDB (one mandatory; both is a plus).

• Strong Python & Shell scripting.

• Strong SQL or backend JS for Mongo.

• Experience automating DB operations.

• 4+ years in production support & troubleshooting.

• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Preferred Skills

• AWS/Azure experience.

• Ansible/Chef/Jenkins exposure.

• DevOps & infra automation knowledge.

• Experience with additional databases (Postgres, Redis, etc.).

2. Must-Haves and Grade/BandMust-Haves

• MySQL or MongoDB (hands-on, production-grade).

• Python and Shell scripting.

• Production support, on-call, RCA experience.

• Performance tuning, query optimization, and monitoring.

• Automation mindset and basic CI/CD knowledge.
