Database Administrator (Secret Clearance Required)

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage, design, and maintain enterprise database systems that support mission-critical applications and business operations. This role is responsible for ensuring database availability, performance, security, and integrity while adhering to established industry standards and organizational policies.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in database administration and development, experience with enterprise database platforms, and the ability to support secure, compliant system environments.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, design, and develop enterprise database systems to support organizational applications
• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database management systems
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and methodologies
• Implement and enforce database standards and best practices
• Support database development activities including schema design and query optimization
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures

Required Qualifications:
• A four-year degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a related Information Technology (IT) role
• Demonstrated experience with database administration, design, and development
• Experience working with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience applying database standards and industry methodologies
• Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical systems
• Familiarity with performance monitoring and database automation tools
• Experience supporting secure or regulated IT environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
