Database Administrator

We at Anchanto are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team responsible for developing database solutions. The right candidate will energize the team, foster collaboration across the organization, and lead the drive toward high-caliber, high-performing products

Description:

• Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications.

• Configure RDS services, create & manage documentation for the configurations.

• Troubleshoot DB Server outages, errors, slowness as they occur, including some after-hours and weekend support as needed.

• Configure DB monitoring utilities to help communicate risks proactively.

• Determine the most effective way to increase performance and recommend hardware upgrades, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.

• Develop/configure monitoring solutions to continuously monitor DB performance.

• Work with development teams to understand their needs and propose most optimal physical implementations.

• Configure database in the high-availability clustering mode and/or on cloud as necessary.

• Be the in-house expert for DB administration best practices including data backup and retrieval.

• Must be able to learn various database technologies such as MySQL, Postgres and NoSQL databases.

You need to have/ Required skills:

• Must have at least 5 years of hands on experience as a DBA.

• Must have strong database administration skills such as backup, performance monitoring, resource management, DB tuning, user rights, scheduling jobs, monitoring jobs, reading an interpreting SQL logs etc. either in MySQL or Postgres or both. Role requires to work on both databases as well NoSQL databases in future.

• Must have excellent knowledge of Data modelling and design.

• Must have strong knowledge and hands on expertise in stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, jobs and performance tuning.

• Must have strong knowledge of AWS RDS services · Knowledge of reporting tools is a plus.

• Experience with Data Warehouse and BI systems is also a plus.

• Prior experience with building high performance e-commerce software is also a big plus.
