We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, with a proven track record of ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and scalability in production environments. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to support business-critical applications and data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain robust database architectures using MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL to support high-availability and high-performance systems.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively tune queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Manage database installations, upgrades, patching, and version migrations with minimal downtime.
• Ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance best practices.
• Plan and execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Work closely with application developers to support schema design, query optimization, and data modeling for both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues in production and non-production environments.
• Automate routine database operations and monitoring using scripts and tools to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Participate in capacity planning, performance forecasting, and scalability planning as the organization grows.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 5–8 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar database-focused role.
• Strong expertise in MongoDB, including replication, sharding, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
• Solid experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL, including query optimization, indexing, replication, and high-availability setups.
• In-depth understanding of database internals, transaction management, locking mechanisms, and storage engines.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and familiarity with shell scripting.
• Knowledge of database monitoring and alerting tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cloud-managed databases (AWS RDS, Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, or equivalent).
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Understanding of data security standards, compliance requirements, and governance best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
