Job Description
Role Description:
Participate in daily or weekly stand-ups with the engineering or platform team to review progress, priorities, and blockers.
Work with senior engineers and architects to understand the Zendesk data model, ticket lifecycle, and support workflows.
Assist in exporting, cleaning, and normalizing Zendesk ticket data into a Microsoft SQL Server database.
Help implement and maintain data ingestion pipelines, including batch imports and webhook-based updates.
Support the generation, storage, and indexing of vector embeddings for ticket content using MSSQL vector features.
Develop and test semantic search queries to retrieve similar tickets based on new customer submissions.
Contribute to backend API development for the internal “Zendesk RAG API” used to analyze incoming tickets.
Assist in integrating automation with Zendesk, such as adding internal notes with related tickets or suggested workarounds.
Write and maintain technical documentation describing data flows, schemas, and API behavior.
Perform basic testing, validation, and troubleshooting of data accuracy, relevance of search results, and system performance.
Follow established security, privacy, and data-governance practices when handling customer information.
Collaborate with product, support, and QA stakeholders to refine use cases and validate outputs.
Learn and apply best practices in software development, version control, code reviews, and observability.

Validation and correction of upstream technical design.
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
Ability to implement automated unit testing.
Data migration, transformation, and scripting.
Troubleshooting and product bug correction.
Responsible for some feature demos.
Estimation of features and tasks.
Follow and participate in Explorance's development standards and guidelines.
