Job Summary
Sandoz is undergoing a large enterprise business transformation through the STEP program, redefining business processes and simplifying the IT landscape. Within STEP, you will join the Data & Analytics workstream, reporting to the Global Lead for Data Management & Governance.
This is not a technical role. It is a management consulting role requiring strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and the ability to bridge business and technology. The ideal candidate will have Big 4 or MBB consulting experience, an MBA (preferred), and technology engineering background (a plus).
Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills are mandatory, as you will regularly present to C-suite and senior stakeholders.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and own the enterprise Data Strategy concept, ensuring alignment with STEP stakeholders and maintaining the strategic Data & Analytics handbook.
Develop PowerPoints for C-suite / leadership teams and middle management. This means not only develop the documentation but to help the team to evolve the data management and governance concept.
Find solutions to data management and governance issues within STEP
Define and implement the new Data & Analytics governance organization, including roles and responsibilities, aligned with STEP and Sandoz ways of working.
Establish and manage the Governance PMO, overseeing governance projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and timely delivery.
Lead and facilitate data governance bodies (e.g. Communities of Practice (CoPs)) and data roles (Data Owners, Data Stewards, data governance champions) to promote best practices and collaboration.
Run workshops with business stakeholders, acting as the bridge between business language and data governance principles.
Support governance projects as needed, including documentation and ensuring clear, consistent language.
Deliver two major outcomes:
A) Implementation of a data governance tool within Sandoz.
B) Establishment of a new operating model for data management, including clear data ownership, stewardship, and champions.
Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
Strategic consulting mindset with ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans.
Big 4 / MBB consulting experience
Excellent PowerPoint and presentation skills for C-suite and senior management.
Strong business and technology understanding (not hands-on technical, but able to engage with IT and business teams).
Cross-functional stakeholder management and ability to influence at all levels.
Project management skills and experience running governance PMOs.
Workshop facilitation and ability to lead cross-functional discussions.
Business case development and financial analysis capability.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., FAIR principles).
Familiarity with enterprise platforms (SAP S/4HANA, Workday, Salesforce) and data platforms (Azure, Databricks) – conceptual understanding only.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
Pharma industry knowledge is a plus.
Can-do attitude and ability to thrive in a transformation environment.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Business Administration, or related business field; (MBA degree is preferred)
