Job Description
The data steward's role is to ensure a high level of data quality across the organization through sound data management in support of critical business processes. The steward is responsible for customer data integrity including hierarchies and relationships to deliver quality data that drives business decisions and supports critical business processes.
• Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Understand, maintain and implement the data governance policies agreed upon by the company
• Respond effectively and in a timely manner to research requests from business stakeholders
• Understand and meet business needs
• Research and create customer hierarchies using a variety of tools including Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers, the internet, customer websites, etc.
• Research company name changes and re-organizations such as mergers and acquisitions
• Perform clerical review of potential linkage and duplicate tasks created within CLIENT's MDM solution (MDS)
• Perform mass data cleansing initiatives for the purging and elimination of corrupt or redundant information
• Manage data stewardship metrics
Knowledge & Skills:
• BA/BS with 1+ years data quality management experience preferred
• Expert in MS Excel
• Strong research skills using Dun & Bradstreet, Hoovers and the internet
• Analytical problem solver
• Great attention to detail
• Experience with reporting tools preferred
• Proven flexibility in dynamic environments and ability to adapt to shifting priorities
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
