Data Scientist – Academic Track

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team in Berlin and support the development of our product and data capabilities.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong academic background in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field, who is looking to apply their knowledge in a fast-moving, product-focused environment. You’ll work on modelling, experimentation, and user behaviour.

What You’ll Work On

• Assist in building and evaluating machine learning models that help personalise recommendations and improve user engagement and conversion

• Support the development and optimisation of incentives and reward structures

• Work with data analytics and engineering to improve data pipelines and data quality

• Contribute to documentation, measurement plans, and experimentation frameworks

• Help define and track KPIs to ensure analyses and models support real product impact

Your Role

• Take ownership of smaller projects and features under the guidance of senior data scientists

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to integrate models and insights into the product

• Support improvements in data workflows and processes

• Participate in technical discussions and bring forward analytical ideas and observations

You Have

• A strong academic background in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field

• Solid understanding of statistical modelling, experimentation, and data analysis

• Experience with Python and SQL, gained through coursework, research projects, or internships

• Familiarity with machine learning tools such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch

• Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Bonus Points

• Experience with ML pipelines or cloud environments

• Exposure to incentive systems, gaming environments, or user behaviour datasets

• Interest in experimentation, automation, or consumer-facing digital products
