About the role

As the Data Science Manager you will lead and be responsible for the Data Science team. The Data Science team builds and maintains AI and statistical models for use in both internal and customer-facing applications. Through mentorship and guidance, the DS manager optimizes the team’s performance and delivers high quality machine learning products.

What will you be doing?

• Managing a multi-member team of data scientists

• Handle communication with stakeholders across the organization for all machine learning projects

• Active involvement in machine learning projects for internal and customer facing applications

• Ensure quality of code, processes, projects, and systems used by the team

• Participate in code reviews and architectural design sessions

• Provide feedback, career guidance, and growth opportunities to team members

• Proactively identifying and resolving potential performance challenges within the team

• Lead the recruitment process for the team

• Help set the technical roadmap for the team, prioritizing workload based on business value and strategic direction

• Build testing frameworks that ensure all code produced is accurate, explainable, and efficient

What are we looking for?

• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike

• Management experience, providing guidance and feedback to team members

• Demonstrated evidence of problem solving in complex data environments

• Experience leading full-stack ML / Data Science projects

• Solid understanding of machine learning and statistical methods with their underlying theory and math

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure

• Highly proficient in Python (R or Scala is also a plus)

• Experience with SQL and relational databases

• Experience with Git and Docker

• Experience with coding agents for machine learning projects

• Experience collaborating with teams across the organization, such as Data Engineering and Product

• 💸 Clear and transparent compensation plan. The salary range goes from 62,000 to 81,000 € gross per year . We will discuss the indicated range with you in the first recruiting call to ensure that we are on the same page.
