Data Modelling & Testing Specialist - Banking

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Modelling & Testing Specialist to design robust data models and ensure high-quality data through effective testing and validation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Data Warehousing (DWH), data modelling, and SQL, and will play a critical role in supporting data-driven initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Developers to translate business needs into efficient data structures.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data through rigorous data validation and testing methodologies.
• Support and enhance ETL processes, working closely with the data integration team to ensure seamless data flow.
• Optimize SQL queries and data models for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, data quality assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document data structures, metadata, and data mapping specifications for future reference and governance.

Requirements:
Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing (DWH) architecture and data modelling principles (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, normalization/denormalization).
• Advanced SQL skills for querying, data analysis, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration workflows (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS, etc.) – preferred.
• Hands-on experience with data testing frameworks, test case design, and data quality validation techniques.
• Understanding of performance optimization techniques in data environments.
• Experience with data modelling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or similar is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Data Lake, Google BigQuery) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
