Role Summary

The Senior Data Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the offshore delivery team, assisting in the development and maintenance of data engineering solutions and contributing to mission-critical data pipelines across large-scale media and datasets. This role is responsible for implementing, testing, and supporting components of our advanced data platforms, collaborating closely with US onshore leadership to deliver enterprise-grade, scalable solutions. This position requires an exceptional technical acumen and growing proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure T-SQL, with a strong eagerness to learn, adapt, and apply best practices in data engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize enterprise ETL/ELT pipelines utilizing Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and advanced serverless technologies—ensuring cross-platform scalability, security, and reliability.

• Architect and implement highly efficient, complex SQL solutions—including advanced query optimization, partitioning, and indexing—to power sophisticated analytics models and enable real-time data processing.

• Establish and refine coding and architectural standards, participating in code reviews and learning from technical audits to ensure the quality and consistency of engineering work within the offshore team.

• Serve as a liaison with onshore leadership, driving strategic backlog prioritization, release management, and complex cross-regional project coordination to align with organizational objectives.

• Demonstrate expert-level support for analytics and media teams, translating business challenges into scalable, high-performance technical solutions, leveraging Azure and SQL expertise.

Senior-Level Expectations:

• SQL expert with the knowledge of designing complex Stored Procedures and ability to automate using SQL best practices.

• Act as the organization’s subject matter expert (SME) in end-to-end pipeline architecture, orchestration frameworks, schema evolution, and advanced Azure Data Factory strategies.

• Adhere to QA best practices by implementing automated testing, using data quality checkpoints within ETL, validating schema changes, implementing data lineage, and efficiently monitoring data pipelines.

• Ensure strict adherence to SLAs and regulatory compliance, proactive risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of operational processes.

Required Skills:

• 6-8 years of progressive experience in data engineering, with Datawarehouse, QA basic, with expert-level mastery of Azure Data Factory, SQL, and cloud data platforms (Preferably Azure).

• Proven expertise in designing, optimizing, and managing large-scale, production-grade data pipelines, including deep skills in SQL performance tuning, ADF orchestration, and CI/CD automation.

• Advanced knowledge of production operations, troubleshooting, and high-availability data processing at scale.
