Overview of the Role
A Data Engineer/scientist to develop and maintain the current data flow and data warehouse.
Main Responsibilities:
• Maintain and develop integrations with Xplan, including client-to-adviser mapping to support accurate revenue and commission reporting.
• Support the transition of member firms from individual adviser codes to corporate codes by ensuring proper client mapping and data consistency within Xplan.
• Implement and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Design and develop enterprise data models and data warehouses for clients.
• Maintain and develop reports in Power BI and Board Pack PDF.
• Lead data analytics projects, focusing on visualisation and predictive modelling.
• Understand business data needs and guide appropriate technological resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify data requirements, particularly during client transitions (e.g., Fortnum Advice and Captegra migration), and design effective solutions.
• Aggregate and analyze data to generate actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and other tools for business users.
• Develop and implement data management policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
• A graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar or related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ideally Power BI and Power Query.
• Experience working with financial systems or CRM platforms (e.g., Xplan) and an understanding of revenue/commission data structures is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and associated tools.
• Working knowledge of Data Lake and Python is a plus but not required.
• Ability to create clear and concise process documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
