Data Annotation Specialist

The Data Annotation Specialist is responsible for supporting the creation of human-supervised datasets to train and evaluate machine learning models to improve autonomous vehicle technology. We are looking for Specialist to support the search of raw sensor data to deliver for human annotation. This work ensures that every frame of useful data is used to train our vehicles and meets the highest standards of safety and precision.

What you'll be doing:

• Support the processing of data from log selection through hand off for data extraction, ensuring high quality data is delivered in a timely manner for our annotation pipelines

• Prioritize between throughput, quality checks, and competing deadlines to optimize the flow of released annotated data

• Act as the point of contact for a contractor workforce to search and identify scenes for annotation

• Follow day-to-day assignments from Data Annotation Team Lead based on project timelines and changing circumstances

• Identify improvements to existing processes and work with other team members to implement with support from cross-functional partners as needed

• Collaborate with internal customers to understand data request requirements and deliver on these requirements

• Take ownership of your work by keeping stakeholders informed of progress and raising issues when support is needed.

What we're looking for:

• 2+ years of proven experience in operations or project management

• Analytical and detailed-oriented

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities quickly and easily

• Strong communication skills - can understand and explain complicated topics and ideas in a clear and concise manner

• Advanced in Excel or Google sheets

Bonus points (not required):

• BA/BS degree in technical or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience

• Prior experience in the Autonomous Vehicle or Automotive industry

• Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Profession (PMP) certification

• Experience working with diverse cultures and managing projects across multiple time zones.
