Data Analyst Intern

About the Role

We are looking for a Data Analyst Intern who is curious, analytical, and eager to learn how data is used to support business decisions. This internship is designed for someone who wants hands-on exposure to real datasets, reporting, and basic analysis while being mentored by experienced team members.

You will support the data team in collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to help teams understand performance, trends, and opportunities.

What You Will Do:
• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources
• Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and simple data visualizations
• Help analyze trends, patterns, and performance metrics
• Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business questions
• Maintain data documentation and ensure data accuracy
• Support ad-hoc analysis requests from the team
• Learn and follow data governance and best practices

What You Will Need:
• Currently pursuing or recently completing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Analytics, or related fields
• Basic understanding of data analysis concepts
• Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables)
• Basic knowledge of SQL is a plus
• Comfortable working with numbers and datasets
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills and willingness to ask questions
• Exposure to Python or R for data analysis
• Experience using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
• Basic understanding of business or product metrics
• Previous internship, coursework, or project involving data analysis

About the Team

The Data Analytics team serves as the lifeblood of GoPay, continuously supplying data and insights that enable the business to function, innovate, and evolve. Through close collaboration with business and product teams, the team delivers impactful data products such as automated dashboards, reports, alerts, simulations, and foundational customer segmentations that support growth, digital inclusion, and risk and fraud initiatives. Acting as a strategic partner and internal consultant, the team ensures stakeholders have timely, actionable insights for decision-making while driving automation to reduce manual data requests and improve efficiency. With strong technical and business capabilities, the BI team focuses on building scalable workflows and data solutions, including initiatives aimed at helping the company achieve its north star metrics.
