Data Analyst Graduate

We are looking for a Data Analyst Graduate to join our data team and gain practical experience working on data projects and operational data processes.

This role is ideal for someone who understands data concepts and basic data processing techniques and wants to develop real-world experience in data analytics and data engineering environments.

The graduate will work under guidance from senior team members and will gradually take on more responsibility as skills develop.

Key responsibilities with support and mentorship, the graduate will:

• Assist in sourcing, cleaning, and preparing data using SQL and related tools
• Support data extraction and transformation tasks for internal and client requests
• Help document data processes and maintain data project documentation
• Assist with ad hoc data queries and reporting requests
• Work with team members to improve data quality and consistency
• Support maintenance of data processes and workflows
• Combine and prepare datasets from multiple sources for analysis
• Help identify trends or patterns in data under supervision
• Assist data scientists and data engineers in preparing datasets for analytics or modelling
• Participate in team discussions to understand business data requirements
• Learn and follow data governance and data management practices

Requirements:
Recently completed qualification in:

• BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field, or
• National Diploma in IT or Software Development

• Basic understanding of SQL and databases
• Exposure to Python or R through academic projects is advantageous
• Familiarity with Microsoft tools or data tools through coursework or projects is beneficial
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies
• Interest in data analytics and data engineering environments
• Work experience is not required, but academic or personal data projects are advantageous.

Technical skills

• Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL queries
• Familiarity with data cleaning and preparation concepts
• Understanding of basic data modelling concepts from academic study
• Exposure to programming concepts or scripting languages
• Awareness of data quality and data governance concepts is beneficial
