Become a Dance Assistant Volunteer!
Do you enjoy working with children and supporting their creativity through dance? The Dundee Township Park District is looking for caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Dance Assistant Volunteers to help our young dancers learn and grow in a positive and supportive environment.
This is an unpaid volunteer position.
What You’ll Do
As a Dance Assistant Volunteer, you will:
Help the Dance Instructor set up the classroom and prepare materials for each class.
Assist children with their lessons and activities throughout the session.
Support the Instructor by helping keep the space clean, organized, and safe.
Step in to assist when the Instructor needs additional support.
Arrive 15 minutes before class and stay 15 minutes after to help reset the room.
Help care for and clean all equipment used in the program.
Secure a substitute volunteer if you are unable to attend.
Communicate important information in a timely and professional manner.
Provide excellent customer service to families, participants, and staff.
Follow all Park District part-time personnel and safety policies.
Perform other duties as needed to support the program.
Who You Are
You're someone who enjoys being part of a team and supporting children in a creative environment. You bring:
A friendly, patient, and positive attitude.
Interest or experience in dance and basic dance skills.
A desire to work with young children and support their learning.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Good physical condition and mobility to assist during class activities.
The ability to remain calm and helpful in busy or stressful moments.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to take initiative.
Must currently be in high school or older.
Schedule
Hours vary depending on dance class schedules.
Volunteers may assist during:
Monday–Friday: Between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: Between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Schedule depends on the needs of the current dance season.
