Job Role / Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing security operations. They will work directly with our client and manage our team of L1 & L2 SOC analysts.
This role is part of a dedicated SOC team supporting our client, providing an opportunity to operate within a highly mature security environment, gain exposure to advanced technologies and complex threat scenarios, and develop deep domain expertise in financial services security operations.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities include:
Manage the day-to-day operations of a dedicated team, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of security monitoring, incident response, threat intelligence and vulnerability management services.
Lead and develop a team of Cyber SOC analysts, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management and career development opportunities ensuring that the SOC team members are motivated, engaged and productive, identifying opportunities for training and improvement for career growth.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Track performance metrics (KPIs, MTTR, incident trends)
Serve as the primary interface for operational issues and escalations
Deliver actionable insights and recommendations for service enhancement
Ensure full compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
Oversee contractual obligations and performance at a strategic level
Contribute to regular governance and service review meetings with the client
Escalate operational issues through the appropriate management path
Desired Skills
Advanced investigative and analytical capability, especially around Microsoft Security products i.e. Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, Office365 and Cloud Apps.
Strong understanding of modern attack techniques, threat actors, and detection methodologies
Proven experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, identity, email and cloud security tooling
Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple complex incidents simultaneously
A minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years in senior security operations lead role
Strong people management skills with proven experience in leading and managing security operations and a team of cyber analysts of varying experience, preferably in a large and complex organisation
Experience working within an MSP / MSSP environment.
Experience dealing with customers and escalations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbally
Certifications/Qualifications
Security industry certifications: SEC+, CYSA+, Net+, SC-200,AZ-500,AZ-900
A recognised intermediate-to-advanced cybersecurity certification is required, such as SANS GIAC GCIA, GCIH, Microsoft SC200 or CompTIA CySA+
