Cyber Forensic Analyst II (Onsite)
Position Summary
The Cyber Forensic Analyst II conducts blockchain and cybercrime investigations. This includes cryptocurrency tracing, dark web analysis, electronic evidence review, and financial intelligence support. You will help prepare evidentiary reports, support law enforcement partners, and contribute to mission-critical cybercrime and financial crime investigations.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct cryptocurrency tracing and forensic analysis.
• Perform dark web and electronic evidence analysis.
• Draft subpoena requests and evidentiary reports.
• Connect financial transactions across traditional and digital assets.
• Support program management tasks (SharePoint, Smartsheets, project documentation).
• Attend briefings and meetings with law enforcement and interagency stakeholders.
Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years conducting cryptocurrency forensic examinations, including evidence handling, imaging, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong technical writing and briefing skills; ability to translate low-level artifacts into law-enforcement-ready narratives.
• Knowledge of procedures and techniques used in crypto currency investigations.
• Experience conducting cryptocurrency analysis support for Federal investigation and prosecutions by using criminal investigative tools such as chain analysis, TRM, and Elementus.
• Applied knowledge to the enforcement of Title 18, Title 31, and other applicable statutes of the Federal Criminal Code, and the seizure and forfeiture of illegally derived property.
• Ability to conduct research and analysis using open-source information, national and international databases, and corporate record filings to match investigative findings and summarize data into a finished professional product.
• Foreign language skills in Russian, Romanian, and Arabic have proven helpful in supporting investigative efforts and are preferred but are not required.
• Prior support to IRS CI or other federal LE/investigative agencies, especially cases involving cyber/cryptocurrency components.
