Job Description
Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina, and/or Bogotá, Colombia (Hybrid)
Experience Level: Senior / Principal (10+ years)
Role Purpose
We are seeking a Customer Success Manager to lead Tachyus’ Customer Success strategy in LATAM. This is a leadership-heavy, high-visibility role designed for a Technical Consultant–Manager hybrid who combines deep Reservoir Engineering expertise with strong digital oilfield, project leadership, and change-management capabilities.
This role goes far beyond traditional “support” or “delivery.” You will act as a trusted digital transformation advisor, responsible for identifying, fitting, and accompanying operators through their end-to-end reservoir management digital transformation journeys—from first technical adoption to enterprise-scale operationalization.
The ideal candidate is someone who has run reservoir studies, challenged simulators, led multidisciplinary teams, and successfully driven the adoption of advanced digital workflows inside complex oil & gas organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Client Leadership & Digital Transformation Guidance
Serve as the senior technical and strategic authority for Tachyus’ most important LATAM accounts.
Lead the definition of digital oilfield roadmaps, helping customers transition from traditional, siloed reservoir studies to closed-loop, operational reservoir management.
Act as a trusted advisor to Reservoir, Production, and Asset Managers, as well as VP and C-level stakeholders, translating advanced physics-based AI models into business and operational outcomes.
Lead executive-level workshops and steering committees, clearly articulating:
Value creation
ROI
Change impacts on workflows, governance, and decision cadence
Ensure Tachyus solutions are fit-for-purpose within each client’s Field Development Plans (FDP), reserves management processes, and operational constraints.
High-End Reservoir Engineering & Technical Oversight
Provide hands-on technical leadership across projects involving:
Reservoir management and surveillance
Simulation-based forecasting
Waterflood and EOR optimization
Proxy / surrogate modeling
Uncertainty quantification and optimization
Challenge, validate, and contextualize complex dynamic models, including numerical simulators and fast physics-based AI models.
Ensure technical rigor, predictivity, and defensibility of all results delivered to customers.
Act as the final technical escalation point for complex reservoir or modeling questions.
Software & Technical Stack
Advanced fluency with industry-standard tools (Eclipse, Petrel RE, CMG, OFM, Sahara or equivalents).
Strong understanding of model calibration, history matching, optimization workflows, and model uncertainty.
Solid data analysis capabilities; SQL and/or Python experience is highly desirable.
Program & Delivery Management (Strong Management Component)
Own end-to-end customer programs, managing scope, milestones, risks, and delivery quality.
Apply structured project and program management discipline across multiple concurrent accounts.
Lead cross-functional internal teams (Reservoir Engineering, Data Science, Product, Engineering).
Use Jira and Confluence to enforce transparency, delivery cadence, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Anticipate organizational, data, and adoption risks—and proactively mitigate them.
Account Strategy, Adoption & Growth
Define and execute Customer Success Plans focused on adoption, embedded usage, and long-term value realization.
Partner closely with Sales to identify expansion opportunities and convert technical wins into commercial growth.
Drive renewals and minimize churn by ensuring measurable, defensible business impact.
Actively help customers scale from pilots to enterprise deployments.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Seniority
10+ years of experience in Reservoir Engineering, Reservoir Management, or Simulation.
Exposure to both conventional and unconventional assets strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or Geosciences.
PMP, Scrum, or advanced reservoir simulation certifications are a strong plus.
Technical Excellence
Deep expertise in reservoir modeling, forecasting, and optimization.
Ability to critically assess and challenge models—not just run them.
Strong understanding of production mechanisms, recovery processes, and operational constraints.
Digital Oilfield & Transformation Skills
Proven experience leading or supporting digital transformation initiatives in oil & gas.
Strong intuition for where digital tools create value—and where they fail.
Ability to guide customers through change, adoption, and workflow redesign.
Management & Leadership
Strong program/project management and stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams without formal authority.
Structured, organized, and execution-oriented.
Communication
Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills.
Fluent in Spanish and English (mandatory).
Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical executives.
What We Offer

Growth: A leadership role with real autonomy and visibility.
Compensation: Competitive executive-level salary, equity (stock options).
