What Will You Do? | Ka aha koe?
Key responsibilities will include:
Delivering exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and in writing
Responding to customer enquiries, requests, compliments, and complaints
Processing payments and performing cashiering duties accurately
Assisting the public with applications, forms, bookings, and general enquiries
Managing bookings for Council facilities and meeting rooms
Providing administrative and coordination support across Council teams
Registering applications and customer requests in Council systems
Supporting facility planning, funding applications, and asset management activities
Participating in team projects, training, and emergency management activities as required

We are looking for someone with:
Essential:
Proven experience in a customer service, reception, or call-centre environment
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong time management and multitasking abilities
Confidence using a range of computer systems and technology
A calm, professional approach to conflict resolution and challenging situations
A positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
Desirable:
Experience working in a local government or public sector environment
Familiarity with administrative or cashiering functions
Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance
Ability to empathise and communicate effectively with diverse communities
