Why Datacom?
At Datacom, we work with organisations and communities across Australia and New Zealand to make a real difference to people’s lives. We help our clients use technology to innovate, grow, and empower Australians to access the support they need — when they need it.
We’re passionate about developing, retaining, and promoting diverse talent. When you join our team, you’re not just taking a job — you’re opening the door to a career full of possibilities in Customer Operations, IT, and beyond.
With a dynamic, agile culture and supportive teams, you’ll feel valued and recognised from day one.
About the Role
We’re hiring full-time Customer Service Representatives to join our Modbury-based Federal Government support team. In this role, you’ll be the friendly and professional first point of contact for customers — helping them solve problems, access essential services, and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Every interaction is unique. You’ll use your empathy, listening skills, and problem-solving abilities to deliver high-quality experiences that truly make a difference.
Whether you bring experience from healthcare, customer service, hospitality, retail, or call centres — or you are brand new to the industry — we’ll provide full training, knowledge resources, and ongoing leadership support so you can thrive.
What You’ll Do
• Handle inbound customer enquiries via phone, email, and processing items
• Build rapport quickly while providing accurate, timely information
• Identify and resolve issues by following clear processes and guidelines
• Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for customer satisfaction and service quality
What We’re Looking For
• Clear, confident verbal and written communication
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy under time pressure
• Team player who contributes to a positive environment
• Empathy and patience, especially when assisting people in challenging situations
• Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems (typing speed 20 WPM or higher)
• Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
• Previous customer service or contact centre experience is highly regarded but not essential — transferable skills are welcome; our training will set you up for success
Operating Hours
Full-time roles available. Rostered shifts Monday–Friday between 7:00am and 7:30pm on a rotating roster, with some flexibility to support your commitments outside of work.
Benefits
• Excellent career development with proven pathways through Datacom Academy
• Fully paid Cert III in IT, with course fees and study time covered during paid work hours
• Best-in-class reward & recognition programs
• Corporate retail discounts & regular social events
• Paid parental leave
• $1,000 employee referral program
