Job Title: Custodian - Chariton Warehouse

Department: Maintenance

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

Cleaning the warehouse bathrooms, breakrooms, and office areas.

Reporting Relations

Accountable and Reports to: Custodial Services Manager and Custodial Lead

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Cleans restrooms, break rooms, offices, meeting rooms, entrances and other related facility areas.
• Strips, waxes and varnishes floor tile as needed.
• Clean, extract, dry and vacuums carpets as needed.
• Empties trash and fills dispensers when needed.
• Washes windows.
• Maintains equipment.
• Assists other maintenance personnel with painting.
• Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Education and Experience

High school or equivalent experience. Zero to one year of similar or related experience. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Must be physically able to perform medium work: exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, 15 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• Visual requirements include vision from 20 inches or less to 20 feet or more with or without correction, color vision, field of vision, and depth perception.

• Must be able to perform the following physical activities:  Stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, standing, feeling, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, bending, and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions

This position is exposed to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, dirt, and chemicals/solvents.

Equipment/Programs used to Perform Job

Standard tools used to perform custodial and janitorial maintenance work. Frequent use of a tractor.
