We are currently seeking to add a Culvert Jacking Supervisor to join our team. This role consists of auguring under roadways to install culverts (concrete and metal) with minimal disturbance to highway traffic flow.
The Culvert Jacking Supervisor will work throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The schedule is 10 days on and 4 days off, each shift is approximately 10-12 hours per day. OT is paid after 8 hours per day.
What You’ll Do
Host tailgate and safety meetings.
Ensure equipment inspections are performed by operators.
Establishes and maintains communication with client representatives, arranging material deliveries (concrete, rock etc.), and orientating new workers and subcontractors.
Preplanning for next day activities and providing a weekly outlook to the Project Manager.
Provides daily updates to the Project Manager, is responsible for ensuring grade tolerances are met, enforces KBL safety programs, provides mentorship and training to workers, ensures environmental compliances are met.
Who You Are
Supervisor Experience of crews of 5 or more
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting and teamwork skills.
Must have exceptional verbal communication skills, able to give and receive verbal information and direction in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting 55 lbs, confined spaces, heights, extended standing).
What You Need
Strong awareness of confined space work, open excavations, shoring boxes, flag person and highway construction area signage.
Previous drilling/boring experience.
Welding and cutting experience.
Familiar with Barbco boring equipment.
Experience working around or near live utilities including hydro, gas lines, fiber optic lines.
Experience working along roadways and highways including traffic control and signage.
Experience with culvert installations.
Understanding of design drawings, grades, benchmarks and survey.
Rigging/hoisting experience.
Comfortable supervising a crew of people.
