Culinary Attendant - Grill, UMMC

We are seeking an experienced Culinary Attendant specializing in grill operations to join our team in Baltimore. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking various grilled items while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

• Operate and maintain grill station equipment while preparing food items according to specifications
• Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
• Monitor food quality and temperature throughout service
• Prepare ingredients and maintain par levels for the grill station
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth service operations
• Respond promptly to customer requests and dietary requirements
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
• Execute daily prep lists and complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes
• Maintain organized workspace and adhere to all health department regulations

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Food Handler's certification required
• ServSafe certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in grill cooking
• Previous food service experience in a high-volume environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
• Proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment and grilling techniques
• Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Basic math skills for measurements and recipe conversion
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Flexibility to work weekends and various shifts as needed
