The Mobile Crusher Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile crushing equipment used in mining operations. The role ensures that crushers and associated equipment operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime to support continuous production.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties:
Equipment Maintenance
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mobile crushers, screens, and associated equipment.
· Inspect crushers, conveyors, feeders, hydraulic systems, and structural components for wear or damage.
· Replace worn components such as jaw plates, blow bars, liners, bearings, belts, rollers, and hydraulic hoses.
Troubleshooting and Repairs
· Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and minor electrical faults in mobile crushing equipment.
· Conduct repairs on engines, drive systems, conveyor systems, and crushing chambers.
· Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize production delays.
Equipment Installation and Setup
· Assist in assembling, commissioning, and relocating mobile crushing plants within the mine site.
· Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, and operational readiness of equipment.
Inspections and Reporting
· Perform daily and weekly equipment inspections and document findings.
· Report maintenance activities, faults, and parts requirements to the Maintenance Supervisor.
· Maintain maintenance logs and service records.
Parts and Inventory Management
· Identify and request spare parts and consumables required for maintenance activities.
· Assist with maintaining appropriate stock levels of critical crusher components.
Safety Compliance
· Adhere to all mine safety regulations, procedures, and standards.
· Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
· Ensure all maintenance work is conducted using proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Operational Support
· Work closely with plant operators and production teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
· Provide technical guidance to operators on proper use and basic maintenance of crushing equipment
Safety & Sustainability Expectations:
Maintain a cooperative interest in the health and safety of yourself, your fellow workers and local communities. Wear
PPEs at all times if in production environments. Be alert and observe, correct and report unsafe conditions. Follow
operating procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements. Ensure that work areas are in compliance with all of GMIN Ventures Guyana Inc. Health and Safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Acts in the applicable jurisdiction. Intervene as necessary, to ensure the safety of others in the workplace. Provide safety leadership by always setting a good example.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements:
Technical certification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy-Duty Equipment Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience maintaining mobile crushers or heavy mining equipment. § Experience working with jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, screens, and conveyor systems.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
· Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
· Knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance practices.
· Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work in demanding mining environments and remote locations.
· Strong commitment to safety and operational efficiency
