Position Overview
The Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) provides advanced life support and specialized emergency medical care for critically ill and injured patients in pre-hospital and clinical environments. This role is responsible for rapid patient assessment, advanced airway management, critical care interventions, inter-facility transport support, and collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
The CCP delivers high-acuity care in time-sensitive situations while utilizing advanced monitoring equipment, administering medications and IV therapies, and supporting emergency and inpatient healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide advanced life support and critical care during emergency responses and inter-facility patient transports
• Assess, triage, and manage critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital and clinical settings
• Perform advanced airway procedures including intubation and ventilation management
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and critical care infusions according to established clinical protocols
• Operate and interpret advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and related devices
• Manage complex medical emergencies including respiratory distress, severe trauma, cardiac arrest, chest injuries, and high-risk maternity cases
• Perform advanced resuscitation procedures and other pre-hospital emergency interventions
• Insert intraosseous access devices for emergency medication and fluid administration, including pediatric applications
• Interpret 12-lead ECGs and conduct hemodynamic monitoring to guide patient treatment plans
• Assist physicians and medical providers with procedures and treatments within scope of practice
• Accurately document patient assessments, vital signs, medical history, medications, treatments, and care provided
• Maintain medical supply inventory and restock clinical and provider areas as needed
• Cross-train and support operations within clinics, emergency departments, and inpatient units
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to EMS personnel and support staff
• Participate in continuing education, training exercises, skills assessments, and compliance programs
• Maintain compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
Requirements & Qualifications
• Current U.S. state Paramedic license with National Registry EMT-P certification or unrestricted Paramedic licensure
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Completion of an advanced trauma certification course such as PHTLS, ITLS, TCCC, or equivalent
• Current Critical Care Paramedic certification (CCP-C) from an accredited program and/or Flight Paramedic certification (FP-C)
• Graduate of a recognized Paramedic training program
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress and emergency response environments
• Strong critical thinking and rapid clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds
• Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements
• Valid U.S. Passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining prior to expiration
• Ability to maintain a valid passport throughout assignment duration
• Ability to obtain and maintain required background screening and security requirements
• Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
• Must be willing and able to relocate internationally for the duration of the assignment
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience supporting military or government healthcare operations
• Experience working in remote, austere, or high-acuity emergency medical environments
• Prior experience as a subcontractor or prime contractor supporting healthcare operations
• Experience working in emergency departments, trauma systems, or critical care transport environments
