Summary of Position
This position is responsible for assisting Senior Business Operating Consultants and Business Operations Consulting AVP in performing credit union business operations consulting services, including but not limited: to Specialty Commercial Program Services, Data Processor Core Conversion Assistance, Accounting Manager Assistance, Accounting Streamlining Services, Reconciliations Assistance (Bank and General Ledger), Call Report Preparation, DOR and LUA Assistance with Examiner Communication, and a Broad Spectrum of Specialty Reviews based on credit union strategic management needs. The scope of consulting engagements includes project implementation, branch operations, interim senior management and oversight, accounting operations, and regulatory training for credit union management, volunteers, and staff.

Essential Functions
Provide onsite and remote Accounting Manager Assistance for credit unions that includes but is not limited to daily balancing and oversight of EOD, EOM, EOQ, and EOY procedures.
Perform onsite and remote financial consulting services, including but not limited to general ledger account reviews, general reconciliations assistance, bank reconciliation assistance, and call report preparations with audit/examination assistance.
Senior Business Operating Consultants and Business Operations Consulting AVP with specialty lending reviews, including in-depth Real Estate, Commercial, and Member Business Lending, to ensure underwriting is consistent with credit union policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
Provide onsite accounting streamlining assistance, including but not limited to reviewing the entire accounting operations, focusing on determining effective and efficient improvements to aid credit unions with smoother accounting processes.
Provide Data Processor Core Conversion Assistance, including but not limited to reviewing all conversion accounts and providing balancing assistance and core training.
Provide specialized DOR and LUA Assistance which includes but is not limited to: Review of the credit union's DOR or LUA, providing an action plan for corrective action, assistance in performing the corrective action plan tasks, providing a response for the completion of the action plan corrective response and communication with the Examiner to clear the DOR and LUA.
Perform specialty requests for business consulting services, focusing on internal controls, collections, charge-offs, lending, cash handling, cash count evaluations, and support of the accounting functions.

Additional Functions
Assist all other sub-departments within Audit & Consulting Services to include, but are not limited to:
Ability to perform Supervisory Committee Annual Reviews to a level of a Senior Financial Auditor, including the ability to review all credit unions within the $500 Million Asset Benchmark.
Perform ACH Audits and BSA/CIP/OFAC Compliance Reviews as needed
Perform or assist Internal Auditors in performing scheduled and routine Internal Audits, including performing any task listed within the Internal Audit Itinerary scope.
Assist Senior Business Operating Consultants and Business Operations Consulting AVP with speaking engagements at Conferences, Workshops, or Webinars as an industry specialist in a broad spectrum of areas, including Operations, Accounting, Management, Compliance, Lending, Internal Controls, and Fraud Prevention.
Write articles for league-produced communications, blogs, and vlogs as requested.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Required at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent work experience to specialization in the financial industry.
Required Knowledge: High knowledge required in credit union-specific accounting practices, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), credit analysis, financial institution regulations and compliance, credit union operations, and financial management best practices.
Experience Required: 3 years of credit union operations experience and at least two years of financial/internal audit experience.
Skills/Abilities: Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.). Skills in the use of a personal computer to prepare financial statements. Computer skills to understand various areas of a computer system. Must possess the ability to think independently while performing various accounting, financial, and performance analyses.

Mental Activities and Requirements of this Position
Reasoning Ability: To apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions. Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.
Mathematics Ability: Able to perform basic statistical calculations, including frequency distributions, reliability and validity of tests, standard curve, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, chi-square application, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Language Ability: Able to read periodicals, journals, and manuals. To prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all punctuation, grammar, diction, and style rules. The ability to conduct training, communicates at panel discussions, and make a professional presentation.
