We’re seeking a Credit Analyst who thrives in a detail-oriented, analytical environment. This role focuses on evaluating new and existing customers to determine creditworthiness, establishing appropriate credit limits, and maintaining accurate credit records. Success in this role requires strong financial analysis skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
As a key member of the Credit Department, you’ll work closely with Agents, Accounts Receivable, and other internal teams to assess financial risk, protect company assets, and support sound credit decisions. This role offers the opportunity to build expertise in credit analysis while contributing to Mercer’s continued growth and financial stability.
This position is onsite Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What You’ll Do
Review and analyze new credit applications to determine customer creditworthiness in accordance with Mercer’s credit policies
Conduct investigations on new and inactive customers using credit tools, trade reports, and reference checks
Identify customer legal structures and link accounts to appropriate coverage within the company’s trade insurer database
Analyze financial statements to support credit decisions and higher credit limit requests when trade data is insufficient
Contact bank and trade references as needed to support credit evaluations
Establish and adjust credit limits based on financial data, trade insurance coverage, and risk analysis
Maintain accurate credit files and documentation for assigned accounts
Collaborate with Agents and Accounts Receivable to address account concerns and resolve past-due balances when appropriate
Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders to support effective credit decisions
Who You Are
Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Comfortable reviewing financial information and making sound credit decisions
Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
Organized and able to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
Professional and diplomatic when handling sensitive financial matters
Proficient with Windows-based systems and standard office software
Qualifications
Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred
Minimum of two years’ experience in credit analysis, credit processing, or collections
Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and resolve issues efficiently
