JOB SUMMARY
The Credentialing Specialist primarily serves as the liaison between Vision Radiology (“Organization”) and the Organization’s contracted applicants and appointees, in order to perform credentialing verifications and grant initial and reappointment privileges to the Organization’s applicants and appointees as applicable. This individual works with Applicants and Appointees as well as external facilities to obtain verifications and documentation as required by Organization bylaws, processes, and procedures. Special projects pertaining to the Physician Services Department may also be assigned as needed.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Specific:
Evaluate Organization procedures and bylaws, determine opportunities for efficiencies, and develop action plans
Initiate and manage workflow for internal credentialing processes to obtain initial and reappointment privileges per Organization’s Bylaws and compliance requirements
Ensures assigned applications, verifications, reports, and other supporting documents of Organization Applicants or Appointees are complete and delivered in a timely manner
Accountable for presentation of completed files to the Organization’s Management Team for recommendation of approval on all assigned initial appointments and reappointments, to include other actions in accordance with the Physician Services Bylaws
Work proactively to resolve issues before they impact applicants’ and appointees’ ability to provide services
This role is responsible for the end-to-end credentialing for initial appointments and reappointments of Radiologists.
This role is responsible for ongoing credentialing maintenance tasks.
Department Specific:
Accept safety and quality of patient care, treatment, and services as a responsibility and priority
Establish and maintain positive working relationships between staff members, including physicians, and external contacts
Maintain a working knowledge of the Organization's procedures and bylaws
Participate in the implementation of applicable Physician Services processes and procedures
Maintain credentialing database with a high level of accuracy, detail, and consistency in record-keeping practices
Accountable for the proper utilization of any computer software program(s) necessary to support the credentialing process and for maintaining the database. This includes, but is not limited data entry and the saving of appropriate documents directly into the database; maintaining data sufficient to pre-populate applications supported by the database
Performing and participating in regular audits of the credentialing database to ensure accuracy
Strictly comply with all Organization and Healthcare Entity Bylaws and policies, accrediting body standards, and laws governing the healthcare industry
Other related responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1-year of work experience in physician credentialing required
Previous remote (or hybrid) work experience
