Crane Operator
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
Minimum of three years experience as a Crane Operator required
Experience with hydraulic, friction, and pile driving a plus
NCCCO or NCCER certified for Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental program.
Operates multiple pieces of crane equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving.
Operates cranes in a safe and appropriate manner.
Completes Standard or Critical Lift form prior to performing required lift.
Ensures rigging is inspected and meets the requirements to perform the lift.
Performs daily maintenance and conducts operational safety checks of the crane before and after each use. Reports any issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
Maneuvers crane equipment into loading and unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
Operates crane equipment on public roadways as necessary while maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings.
Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the crane equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and refilling the crane as necessary.
Performs other duties or task as required based on company’s needs.
