We are currently looking for a Crane Operator for our Sorel site, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Crane Operator uses a wheeled crane to perform various material handling tasks, including loading operations. The incumbent is also responsible for weighing materials entering and leaving the yard.
What you will be responsible for :
• Operate the crane while actively participating in general site duties;
• Identify and sort materials (tests, magnets, etc.) and assess non-saleable items;
• Receive, sort, and direct metal to appropriate areas based on its characteristics;
• Unload trucks and verify the quality of materials;
• Feed the shredder with scrap cars and other ferrous materials;
• Transport non-ferrous material bins across the site;
• Load ferrous materials for shipment to customers;
• Perform basic equipment maintenance (lubrication, cleaning) and support general yard operations.

• You hold a heavy equipment operator competency card;
• You have experience operating heavy equipment (crane or loader);
• You possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license;
• You have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role;
• You are safety-oriented and committed to workplace health and safety;
• You can manage priorities in a fast-paced environment;
• You are a team player with a collaborative attitude;
• You demonstrate good communication skills.
