7:00AM - 5:30PM
Duration: 5 months
Location: Bay Minette
Per Diem - $120.00
Full-Time with benefits
Job Summary: Intermediate equipment operator capable of independently operating carry deck cranes and boom trucks for routine lifts.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
Independently operate carry deck cranes and boom trucks within rated capacities.
Perform and document pre-operational inspections.
Interpret load charts to determine safe lifting limits.
Set up equipment including outrigger deployment and leveling.
Coordinate lifts with riggers and signal persons.
Identify overhead and underground hazards.
Perform basic preventive maintenance.
Accurately interpret load charts and lift parameters.
Demonstrate proper crane setup and stabilization.
Maintain load control during lifting and traveling.
Inspect rigging equipment for defects.
Apply job safety analysis principles.
Perform complex and critical lifts using carry deck cranes and boom trucks.
Lead lift planning and coordinate with supervisors and crews.
Verify load calculations, rigging configurations, and equipment setup.
Maintain detailed inspection and lift documentation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Carry Deck Crane certification
Boom Truck certification
OSHA 10/30-Hour (preferred)
Must be able to read and communicate in English to understand technical documents, safety procedures, and instructions relevant to job duties. English proficiency is required due to operational and safety communication needs.
Education and Experience:
3+ years of experience operating carry deck cranes and/or boom trucks in industrial or construction environments.
Experience working on active construction sites with multiple trades.
Familiarity with lift planning and critical lift procedures.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, climb, and work in and around heavy equipment for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with rigging and material handling tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in industrial environments.
Visual and auditory ability to safely operate equipment and respond to signals and alarms.
