Crane & Forklift Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Crane Operator & Forklift Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and cranes to move, load, and position materials safely and efficiently within our plant, yard, or on and off of trucks.

Key Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to transport materials and products

Operate overhead and jib cranes to lift and position heavy loads

Perform pre-operational inspections on equipment

Load and unload trucks and storage areas safely

Interpret load charts and follow safe lifting practices

Use proper rigging techniques

Communicate with team members using verbal and hand signals

Follow all workplace safety procedures

Maintain clean and organized work areas

Report completed work to the plant manager or supervisor

Grind railings and handrails as required

Paint material as required using dip tanks, spray guns or brushes

Report equipment issues or hazards

Qualifications

Valid forklift operator certification

Crane operator certification

Experience operating forklifts and/or cranes

Knowledge of rigging and load handling

Strong attention to safety

Good communication and teamwork skills

Working Conditions

Work may be performed indoors or outdoors with exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions. Physical activity including lifting, standing, and operating equipment for extended periods is required.
