Primary Function:
The primary function of the Cost Accounting Manager is to oversee and control the cost accounting function across all business units to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of job costs and ensure compliance with internal processes and controls. The Cost Accounting Manager will collaborate with Business Unit Directors and Project Managers to support efficient operations and job profitability as well as reporting to management.
Responsibilities:
Manage the cost accounting team, including planning, implementing best practices, and ensuring consistency across business units
Manage all cost accounting activities, including tracking, analyzing, and reporting of job costs for all business units and ensure accuracy of financial data
Support and collaborate with Business Unit Directors and Project Managers to monitor job cost actuals versus as-awarded amounts and identify variance
Review and ensure accuracy of Project summary reports, WIP schedules, and forecasts
Develop and ensure consistency with cost accounting processes and reporting, including job cost reporting and accruals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Managers and Purchasing, across all business units to monitor and manage cost control measures to improve profitability
Manage month-end Job close and accruals, including cost and revenue allocations, job specific entries, intercompany accounting, and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-accounts and coding
Oversee the maintenance and implementation of accounting software systems toward process improvement, efficiency, and automation
Supervise client invoicing and accounts receivables across all business units working with Project Managers
Implement client invoicing best practices for the cost accounting team and ensure compliance and consistency across all business units
Ensure invoicing complies with client contracts and agreements
Organize and report accounts receivable balances and metrics to Management
Administrative & Coordination:
Compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, and correspondence
Compiles, reviews, and analyzes data assigned by the Business Unit Vice President.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or ten (10) years of relevant experience required.
