This role is responsible for originating, developing, and executing Global Transaction Banking (GTB) business for large Chinese corporates and multinational companies. The position combines direct revenue ownership with strategic client stewardship, positioning Santander as a core GTB partner across working capital solutions, trade finance, and cash management. The successful candidate will act as a senior GTB advisor to clients, driving wallet share growth, deepening client penetration, and strengthening Santander’s franchise in China through disciplined execution and strategic engagement.
1. Revenue Origination & Portfolio Management
• Originate and execute GTB mandates across the full suite of working capital solutions, including trade finance, supply chain finance, structured trade, ECA-backed financing, bilateral lending, and cash management.
• Own and deliver revenue targets and P&L contribution for the assigned corporate portfolio.
• Proactively develop new client relationships and maintain a robust pipeline to ensure sustainable revenue growth and successful deal execution.
• Lead commercial negotiations, mandate structuring, and pricing discussions.
2. Solution Structuring & Commercialization
• Lead client engagement and coordinate with regional and global product specialists to design tailored GTB solutions aligned with client needs.
• Structure transactions within the applicable regulatory and risk framework.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders (Relationship Managers, Product, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations) to ensure efficient time-to-revenue.
• Ensure seamless mandate execution and deliver high-quality client experience through onboarding and implementation.
3. Strategic Client Advisory
• Act as a trusted GTB advisor to CFOs, Treasurers, and senior finance executives.
• Conduct strategic discussions focused on working capital optimization, liquidity management, trade risk mitigation, and supply chain enhancement.
• Align GTB solutions with clients’ KPIs and long-term strategic priorities.
• Support clients in navigating regulatory considerations and cross-border operational requirements where relevant.
4. Franchise Development & Cross-Selling
• Contribute to the execution of GTB Asia Pacific growth strategy.
• Provide timely market intelligence on competitive dynamics, regulatory developments, and emerging trends in trade and working capital solutions.
• Maximize wallet share by identifying and executing cross-selling opportunities across Corporate & Investment Banking products.
• Uphold strong governance standards across KYC, AML, and credit disciplines while balancing commercial objectives.
