With continued growth and a strong focus on safety leadership, we are seeking a Corporate Health & Safety Advisor to support the effective operation of our Health & Safety systems across corporate and project environments.
About this role
Reporting to Corporate Health & Safety Manager, the Corporate Health & Safety Advisor provides operational, technical and coordination support to the Corporate Health & Safety function.
The role supports the development, maintenance and consistent implementation of Spiecapag’s Health & Safety systems in line with legislative, VINCI Group, ISO and industry accreditation requirements. The position works closely with corporate functions and project teams to support safety outcomes across the full lifecycle of projects.
The role is primarily Brisbane‑based and requires a willingness to travel to project sites to provide short-term operational support, develop practical site exposure, and build hands-on project experience. This may include FIFO or DIDO arrangements, when required.
Key responsibilities
As a Corporate Health & Safety Advisor, you will work across corporate and project teams to:
Support the development, maintenance and review of corporate Health & Safety policies, procedures and systems
Assist with ensuring Health & Safety systems remain compliant with legislative, corporate, VINCI and ISO requirements
Provide Health & Safety support during tendering and pre‑contracts activities
Support project start‑up by assisting with the establishment and handover of project Health & Safety systems
Provide advisory support to project‑based Health & Safety personnel as required
Participate in internal and external audits, including project audits and accreditation audits (e.g. ISO, FSC)
Assist with maintaining industry and corporate accreditations
Support incident reporting and investigations, including participation in high potential incident investigations using Tap‑Root methodology
Assist with the preparation of monthly Health & Safety reports, including KPI performance, emerging risks and improvement initiatives
Support the development, delivery, review and continuous improvement of Health & Safety training materials and programs
Contribute to proactive safety culture, continuous improvement initiatives and innovation programs
Support corporate office and logistics Health & Safety requirements, including inspections, toolbox meetings and reviews
Provide short‑term on‑site coverage for project Health & Safety roles when required
Experience and qualifications
Essential
Certificate IV or higher in Occupational Health & Safety
Sound working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and best-practice WHS management systems
Demonstrated experience supporting the administration and maintenance of Health & Safety systems, policies and processes
Desirable
Certificate IV in Training and Assessing
Experience participating in accreditation audits (ISO, FSC desirable)
Practical construction site experience, preferably within pipeline or infrastructure environments
Typically, this role suits candidates with around 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, infrastructure or a corporate/project‑based environment who are keen to build further project exposure.
