This role plays a vital part in helping TAL protect what matters most for our customers by providing trusted legal guidance that enables sound, ethical and commercially confident decisions across the business. As part of our legal team, you’ll help navigate complexity, support sustainable growth and ensure TAL continues to meet its regulatory and community responsibilities. Your expertise helps create a strong foundation for how we operate, empowering teams to do the right thing and deliver meaningful outcomes for customers when they need us most.
In this role you will:
 
• Resolve complex disputes and litigation to protect customer, commercial and regulatory outcomes
• Provide proactive legal advice that supports confident decision‑making across claims and underwriting
• Guide regulatory and code compliance to strengthen customer fairness and business integrity
• Support effective dispute resolution by advising internal resolution teams on sound legal outcomes
• Build trusted partnerships with business stakeholders to embed legal insight early and effectively
• Contribute legal expertise across teams to support clear, compliant product and commercial documentation
• Bring solid post‑admission legal experience (around 3+ years) applying commercial and regulatory law in practice
• Offer practical knowledge of insurance or financial services, with insight into regulated environments
• Apply a strong foundation in insurance law to support fair, compliant customer outcomes
• Communicate clearly and confidently, building trust with stakeholders across legal and business teams
• Collaborate effectively, contributing positively within a team‑based, values‑led culture
• Stay organised and adaptable, managing priorities with energy and accountability
