Role Summary
The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting integrated project schedules to support disciplined execution across CEC’s electrical construction projects. This role partners with Project Managers and field leadership to ensure schedules are accurate, logical, and aligned with contractual milestones.
The Project Scheduler is accountable for schedule integrity.
Core Accountability
The Project Schedular is directly accountable for:
Maintain accurate, logic-driven project schedules aligned to contract requirements
Lead schedule updates and reporting cadence
Identify critical path and schedule risks
Support forecasting and recovery planning
Maintain schedule documentation and change tracking discipline
Execution Responsibilities
Develop baseline schedules aligned with estimate assumptions and execution plans
Maintain CPM schedules with proper logic ties and measurable progress tracking
Lead weekly/bi-weekly schedule update cycles
Identify critical path and near-critical activities
Produce look-ahead schedules and milestone reports
Support recovery plans when performance deviates from plan
Document delays and impacts to support change management
Coordinate schedule integration across subcontractors and vendors
Leadership & Standards
Set the standard for schedule discipline, logic integrity, and reporting accuracy
Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to drive proactive planning and execution visibility
Maintain professionalism and clarity in customer-facing schedule reviews

Experience & Qualifications
Track A – Degree Path
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field 3+ years of scheduling or project controls experience
Track B – Experience Path
5+ years of progressive scheduling experience in electrical or industrial construction
Required Experience & Qualifications (Regardless of Track)
Experience building and maintaining CPM schedules
Proficiency in Primavera P6 preferred (MS Project acceptable)
Understanding of construction sequencing and self-perform work
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to identify and communicate schedule risk early
Professional Discipline
Formal project management training or certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
Candidates without certification must demonstrate consistent use of disciplined project controls, forecasting, and commercial management in prior roles
