As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Corporate Accountant to join our finance team and support our multi-entity, publicly listed environment.
Role Overview:
The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, month-end closing, and compliance activities across multiple entities. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in IFRS reporting, public company environments, and multi-entity accounting, with exposure to manufacturing or aviation considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:Perform full-cycle accounting, including preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards.
Month-End Close: Lead key aspects of the month-end close process, including preparation of accruals, prepaids, and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tight reporting timelines.
Revenue Management: Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS, including assessment of contracts, performance obligations, and timing of revenue recognition. Monitor cut-off, investigate variances, and ensure completeness and accuracy of revenue, including coordination with sales and operations teams.
Manufacturing Costing: Analyze and monitor variances in materials, labour, and overhead. Collaborate with production teams to investigate and resolve differences between standard and actual costs.
Inventory Management: Oversee cycle count programs and perform month-end inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of inventory records.
Intercompany Accounting: Reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple entities, ensuring proper eliminations and compliance with transfer pricing policies.
Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset subledger, ensuring capital expenditures (including tooling and machinery) are accurately recorded, tracked, and depreciated.
Compliance & Audit: Support year-end audit processes by preparing working papers and documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and IFRS requirements.
ERP Systems: Assist with ERP system maintenance, optimization, and enhancements to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
Qualification Requirement:
CPA designation (completed or actively working toward completion)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field from a Canadian university
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry (public company experience required)
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements for publicly listed companies.
Experience in manufacturing or aviation environments is considered a strong asset
Familiarity with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is preferred
Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
