Job Title: Core Match Technician
Department: Coil Winding
Shift: 2nd – Mon-Thurs 5:00 pm – 3:30 am
Location: Panama City, FL
Overview: At Central Moloney, we are committed to manufacturing high-quality transformers and components. The Core Match position plays a critical role in our production process, ensuring that coils are accurately prepared and staged for final assembly. As a Core Match technician, you will be responsible for verifying component accuracy, installing the correct core steel and related hardware, and ensuring every coil meets our quality standards before it moves to the next stage of production.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare coils for assembly by installing the correct core steel, yoke pads, mould pads, core blocks, and related components.
• Verify accuracy and adherence to specifications for each coil prior to staging.
• Inspect and stage completed coils for transfer to the leafing department for final assembly.
• Ensure all components are correctly matched to coil specifications per engineering documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety guidelines and 5S standards.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve production or quality issues promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for verifying measurements and component specifications.
• Willingness to follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
Requirements:
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
• Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise, varying temperatures, and environmental stressors.
• Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed.
• PPE: Required to wear eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear.
• Dexterity & Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods during long shifts.
• Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and proactively address hazards.
