Based in Cascade Idaho, the Convoy Support Operator/4WD Pilot Truck Driver will work as part of the Convoy Support Team. The convoy consists of fuel tanker trucks and hazmat response support vehicles that travel to and from a remote customer location.
The convoy route mostly consists of mountainous gravel service roads. Each convoy trip will take approximately 8-10 hours. We anticipate there will be 2 convoy trips per week in April & May, then increasing to 3-4 starting in June.
Essential Job Duties and Tasks:
Drive a heavy-duty 4WD pick-up truck as part of the convoy in off-road terrain often in adverse weather conditions;
Set convoy speed, watch for oncoming traffic and road hazards, intercept oncoming traffic to notify of convoy presence;
Install tire chains and change tires as needed;
Clear road hazards such as fallen trees and other blocking debris with chain saws and other power equipment;
Set booms to contain hazardous material spills in water;
Maintain communication with all convoy vehicles
Required Qualifications:
21 Years old or older;
Experience operating a pilot vehicle;
Valid driver license;
Clean driving record;
Ability to maintain reliable and dependable attendance
