The Opportunity
The Ottawa Senators are seeking an energetic, hard-working professional to join our Operations team as a Conversions Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity to join an NHL franchise at a Supervisory level position which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a major league sports team.
This position is responsible for the supervision of all part-time conversion and operation team members who assemble and disassemble areas of Canadian Tire Centre (CTC).
Number of vacancies: 1 – this is a replacement role.
Key Responsibilities
Ongoing
Responsible for supervising and participating in arena bowl conversion
Ensure that the hockey glass, dasher boards, stages, seating platforms, and flooring are properly set up and installed per specifications
Reference event riders for specifics on set up instructions
Responsible for setting up conference rooms as requested
Ice care and maintenance
Perform custodial duties when required, which may include dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing fixtures, equipment or CTC furniture
Operate light equipment and machines such as forklifts, lifts, loaders, and cleaning equipment
Ensures work orders are completed
Maintains accurate inventory and daily usage logs of building tools, machinery and equipment
Assist event promoters with requests, and provide excellent customer service
Responsible for ensuring that the department is properly staffed with the proper number of team members possessing the required skills
Schedules all supplemental labour requirements to ensure that all conversions and events are staffed appropriately
Responsible for developing a plan to convert the building to and from events by consulting with the Operations manager and Event Director
Responsible for ensuring that staff is properly trained in all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety
Periodic
Responsible for reviewing the operations polices and procedures for Capital Sports & Entertainment, Capital Sports Properties Inc., implementing changes when required
Health & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilitie
Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:
Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA regulations and internal policies and procedures
Using or wearing protective equipment, devices or clothing when require
Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member
Reporting any contravention of the OHSA regulations or Senators Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures
Qualifications (what we look for)
Minimum 2 years’ previous experience as a supervisor
In depth knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Able to perform tasks requiring physical endurance
Must possess effective oral and written communication skills
Must be available for shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Team player , positive attitude

This role falls within a base salary range of $42,300 to $64,900 annually, consistent with the organization’s established salary ranges. Salary ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to market data, internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skillset.
