Controls Engineering Co-op (Hand Control)

Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary, a world leader in building AI-based control systems for humanoid robots, is looking to hire a skilled and motivated Controls Engineering co-op to join our Controls team. In this role, you will focus on developing and implementing cutting-edge control systems for our highly dexterous robotic hands. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the future of robotics while working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers.

Success Criteria:
• Demonstrated familiarity with dynamic system identification techniques and their application to real-world systems.
• Integrate software solutions with physical hardware in robotic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test control systems.
• Contribute to project documentation and management using tools like Confluence and Jira.
• Ensure the robustness and reliability of control systems through iterative testing and optimization.

Your Experience
Qualifications
• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Robotics or a related field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.), or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience developing software for robotic systems on physical hardware.

Skills
• Strong experience in dynamic system identification for complex robotic systems.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, and ROS 2 development.
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, including neural network models and reinforcement learning.
• Experience developing robot teleoperation algorithms is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of multibody rigid body dynamics and robot control is an asset.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and project management tools is an asset.

About Sanctuary AI
