A Robotics Systems Engineer (Control) is tasked with the design, development, and implementation of advanced algorithms aimed at managing robotic movement, stability, and interaction with the surrounding environment.
In this position as a Robotics Systems (Controls) Engineer, you will take on the responsibility of designing, developing, and refining algorithms that dictate the behavior of robotic systems. Your role will require close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to seamlessly integrate hardware and software solutions that align with stringent specifications and performance criteria.
To qualify for this position, you should possess expertise in C++/Python, MATLAB/Simulink, ROS, and control theory.
Requirements:
Roles & Responsibilities:
You will manage the modeling and validation of control systems for actual robotic systems utilized in warehouse environments.
Create high-fidelity models of electro-mechanical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and mechanisms.
Apply Model-Based Development (MBD) principles using MATLAB/Simulink.
Design and validate closed-loop control systems.
Conduct validation through MIL → SIL → HIL processes.
Establish simulation frameworks for comprehensive system-level verification.
Produce embedded code using Simulink (with Embedded Coder).
Collaborate closely with hardware and firmware teams to transition models into real-world applications.
Analyze system stability, robustness, and performance.
Troubleshoot actual robots, beyond just simulations.
Your role will extend beyond controller design; you will actively contribute to the development of production robotics.
Requirements:
Strong practical experience with MATLAB/Simulink (the MBD workflow is essential).
Experience in constructing plant and controller models.
Familiarity with MIL / SIL / HIL processes.
Good grasp of control theory concepts (including PID, state-space, adaptive control, etc.).
Solid understanding of Linear Algebra and system dynamics.
Experience in motor modeling and control (preferably BLDC / PMSM).
Knowledge of embedded C/C++ programming.
Hands-on experience with physical systems (not solely academic).
Experience:
A minimum of 1-4 years of experience in robotics or control systems engineering.
A strong foundation in control theory and system dynamics.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering (ENTC), or Mechanical Engineering.
Good to Have:
Familiarity with Stateflow.
Experience with sensor fusion techniques (like Kalman Filters).
Proficiency in robotics motion control.
Knowledge of functional safety modeling.
Experience with ROS/ROS2 integration.
Background in fast-paced product startups.
