The Role
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting function and ensure financial integrity, scalability, and operational excellence across the organization. This role will be responsible for overseeing all core accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance, while acting as a key partner to senior leadership in driving business performance.
As an M4 leader, you will operate at both a strategic and executional level, building robust financial infrastructure, leading high-performing teams, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the company.
What You’ll Do
Financial Leadership & Strategy
• Own the integrity and accuracy of all financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Partner with the CFO and executive team to provide insights on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
• Translate business strategy into scalable accounting and financial processes
• Support long-term planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling
Accounting Operations
• Lead all core accounting functions including GL, AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition, and fixed assets
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
• Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and systems
Compliance & Controls
• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of strong internal controls (SOX readiness where applicable)
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS / US GAAP) and regulatory requirements
• Manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
Systems & Process Optimization
• Drive automation and tooling improvements across the finance function
• Evaluate and implement scalable financial systems and reporting infrastructure
• Identify inefficiencies and continuously improve workflows to support growth
Team Leadership
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team
• Set clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Cross-Functional Partnership
• Partner closely with FP&A, Legal, People & Culture, and Operations teams
• Provide financial guidance on business initiatives, contracts, and investments
• Support M&A activities, due diligence, and integration efforts as needed
What You Bring
Must-Have:
Experience & Expertise
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including leadership roles
• Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader in a high-growth environment
• Strong knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
• Experience managing audits and working with external auditors
• Background in building and scaling accounting processes and systems
Leadership & Operating Style
• Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail
• Hands-on leader who can operate in both tactical and strategic capacities
• Strong people leader with a track record of building and developing teams
• High ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes and accountability
Technical & Business Skills
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments
Nice-to-Have:
• CPA or equivalent designation
Experience in a SaaS or tech-driven business model
Exposure to international accounting and multi-entity environments
Experience with automation tools and finance transformation initiatives
Prior involvement in M&A or fundraising activities

• Financial reporting is consistently accurate, timely, and audit-ready
• Month-end close is efficient and continuously improving (shortened close cycles)
• Strong internal controls are in place with minimal audit findings
• Finance systems and processes scale seamlessly with company growth
• The accounting team is high-performing, engaged, and developing
• Leadership has clear, actionable financial insights to guide decisions
Security Requirements
• Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;
• Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
• Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.
